Rivergate Resort - Karjat

A beautiful resort tucked in the heart of Karjat - its a must visit locale during the monsoons. I was there early this year and the place completely took me by surprise. Its a sprawling property across the hills and has lovely bunglows that face the valley and overlook the Karjat lake . The sunrise and the sunsets are an experience here coupled with the long winding trail walks, beautiful terraced japanese gardens and the evening entertainment on the resort lawns.

A particular experience that i carried back with me was the breakfast every morning. Away from the chaos of the mundane regular life and the hurried bowl of cornflakes and amidst gulping down steaming mugs of coffee - we begin our days..Here I could sit and look at the serene mornings emerge out of the mist of the dawn across the valley and with only the sound of the winds and the parrots around for company . Its a perfect get away from the madness that engulfs us in Mumbai. I would love to be back again
