How strange are we humans..Another of those unplanned unobstrusive evenings and I stumble on lives that never mattered, were never noticed..Until a few bullets splayed and ended them..Razak – the server boy at Café Leopold who worked all day plus his few hours of overtime to provide for his family of 5 children and one wife..Thankfully there weren’t many on the second category of stakeholders
We don’t know whether it was exactly Kasab or not but for the sake of dramatizing we may refer of the gunman entering the café and relieving himself. Razak did not see his family ever after but the man who was struggling to provide two square meals and a life to his family would be preening his bullet wounds in heaven –one of his children was adopted, the other one borne till her marriage , two other borne and inheritors of a lifetime of support.
I wonder whether serving beer and kulchas would have proved so lucky for Razak…a salute to us for standing by lives whose sufferings are a public sympathy ……..many more suffer in silence . Just look around and you will find a person to reach out who needs the same love ,care and consideration.. We don’t need a few heartless inhumans to make us humane
